     All who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted. Luke 18:14

St. Francis knew what it meant to humble himself and to see the world differently, that is through the suffering of another person. In the midst of the howling voices about our border crisis, may we close our mouths, become silent, and let the sounds of the suffering Christ echo once again (and then again, and again).

May the attached picture remind us to ask God to humble our “know-it-all” arrogance, and sense of entitlement.
