Developing a Plan for St. Philip's
In the Spring of 2024 the church took the CAT survey, a congregational assessment tool recommended by the diocese. 167 people were invited to take the survey, and we are delighted that 100 people completed it. The results were presented at a special forum on June 23. You can download the slides below.
This summer and fall, a team led by Joe Funyak followed up by interviewing selected families, including our families with young children, to find out more about what our members are hoping and dreaming for St. Philip's.
On Sunday, November 3 we invited parishioners to another meeting to help hone in on the goals we would like to focus on in the coming three years.
The four areas we voted to prioritize are:
- Make necessary changes to attract families with children and youth to our church;
- Create more opportunities to form meaningful relationships;
- Support for elderly parishioners; and
- Expand outreach ministries

One question raised at the meeting was: "What happens to the areas that didn't get the top votes?" Clearly, there are many aspects of church life not covered in these four areas. We will continue to do a full range of ministries as we are able. The purpose of naming these four areas is that we give them special focus and attention over the next few years. Each area will have a team that will develop a specific vision and action plan. The vestry will make these areas part of our meetings each month. And we will give regular progress reports to the church.
We invite you to participate in this process as you are able. If you are interested in serving on one of these new teams or learning more, please reach out to Fr. Eric at ericw@stpfeeds.org.
Most importantly, please continue to pray for God's leadership and direction.
